Dan Fleyshman's "Revenge of The Nerds" Themed Birthday Party

As soon as guests entered the private Los Angeles music studio for Dan Fleyshman’s “Revenge of The Nerds” birthday party, they knew they were in for a treat. A towering and lengthy step-and-repeat was situated in an L-shape and featured a portrait of Dan wearing a bow tie and thick black eyeglasses. Props, including nerdy spectacles, jump ropes, and hula hoops were available for attendees who wanted to strike a pose for photographers Jorge Meza and Edward De La Torre.

Fabricated letters spelling out “HBD DAN” featured a chalkboard-style print; this area was excellent for group photos with the birthday boy. Just across was the “principal’s office” where framed displays of administrative-award recipients sat on the large desk. Former “award winners” included the amazing nighttime entertainment: Mix Master Mike, 2 Chainz, and Travis Barker.

Create Event Design brought in plush black velvet couches, chairs, and ottomans so that guests could sit back and relax for a bit from all the dancing to the live performances, in addition to hot sets from DJ Vice, DJ Skee, Heart Attack, and Purple. Amazing oversized projections both on stage and in the main room were crafted by 3D Sounds. The interior setup was incredible! Dan’s photo – the same one seen on the step-and-repeat – bounced around the ramp-style screen and made for a jaw-dropping moment when guests noticed it as they made their way to the bar. Crystal Bartenders worked the bars, quickly offering cocktails and Liquid Death canned water.

For dinner and snacks, there was an array of choices, as well as lunch tables to sit and enjoy a meal. Sayaang Market provided an impressive mashed potato bar that included all sorts of yummy fixings, Bachi Truck offered shrimp, chicken, or steak Japanese hibachi-style far, Everbowl acai bowls with all the trimmings, and even Sugar Tacos’s vegan Mexican food for those who wanted something to go. Belladonna Sweets crafted a tiered cake to match the theme, and the crowd sang in unison as Dan was presented a brand new Hummer as a birthday gift from a wonderful friend.

While guests enjoyed the merriment of the evening, checking out everyone’s nerdy or school girl-inspired attire, LX Pix was also available for photo opportunities with groups of friends. Wife of the Party also created several photo moments for partygoers – some of them included the usual characters you see on campus, like the nurse, librarian, custodian, and more. Each area was highly decorated with props from Modernica from bookcases to lockers to the computer lab. Cocktail and coffee tables showcased collections of school supplies and an apple for the teacher. It was so much fun to see Dan’s friends and family discover all the details.

We are so thrilled that Dan chose Wife of the Party again to design and plan one of his events. It’s such an honor to work with him and Casey. Can’t wait to see what we think up next together!
