Minimalistic Neutral Baby Shower at The Good Time Venue

The Good Time Venue by The Wife of the Party is known for its beautiful blank canvas. People love that it’s a clean palette and they can decorate in so many different ways to create their own look without having to compete with colors or patterns from within the site. My best friend’s baby shower was obviously very special to me, but it also pushed my creativity. I’m loud and love vibrant colors and a lot of “extra,” while Jessica takes joy in clean lines, neutral shades, and pulls off a classic style like no one else I know. I’m proud of our team’s work here because it was different from our norm, but also proves that we can look through the lens of any person’s perspective and understand their unique style and aesthetic.

To celebrate baby Ezra, I opted for a masculine design that incorporated tones of grey and nude. Florals were partly inspired by bohemian styles, but then I went a little crazy and requested clouds of baby’s breath that were suspended over each round guest table. Tablescapes boasted some pops of sunny yellow florals, along with an organic centerpiece arrangement set atop blocks of cut stone. Personalized plates were placed on wooden chargers along with dark-tan, airy linen napkins affixed with a wood ring and bullion flatware. It was understated and so fantastic! I knew Jessica and her beau Frankie would adore the presentation.

Along with lounge areas that offered plush seating on vanilla couches, large stone end tables, and amorous candlelight, there was also a wow-worthy photo moment at the entrance. We love a grand entrance, whether it’s bright red, shocking pink fur, or a neutral rocky formation. We placed stones in various sizes and shapes with collections of pillar candles, wildflower floral masterpieces, and thick linen draping, creating an elegant backdrop. My favorite element of the décor was the bookshelf that was arranged with sophisticated art fixtures and interesting bookends, but it was also a placeholder for those who brought books to gift to baby Ezra. We even made personalized stickers to add in each book so the gift giver could sign their name and add a special note, so mama and baby could hold on to the text as a forever keepsake.

Beyond the bar space with a large EZRA sign affixed at the top, buffet-style meals, a tasty coffee bar, and All About the Cinnamon scrumptious rolls, the photo booth and baby shower games proved to provide a lot of smiles and fun memories for all in attendance. The pièce de résistance, however, was the cake! It’s attention to detail just blew me away! The four-layer confection made to resemble a rock formation about to topple over was simply impeccable and the frosting was as smooth and yummy as it was realistic. A separate stand-alone cake sat beside the taller version, emblazoned with Ezra’s name. Job well done by The Wife of the Party team and all our vendor friends! Congratulations to Jessica, Frankie, and family!
