Can you tell me how to get to Gia Street? Gia's Sesame Street Themed 1st Birthday Party
Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned. And it didn’t go that smoothly for the majority of people who had celebrations planned during the pandemic. Originally, we were hired to plan the client’s baby shower, but due to Covid it was cancelled, so we were excited when the client requested that we instead plan her daughter’s first birthday party at Lombardi House. She wanted a unique spin on a Sesame Street-themed party: primarily pink and red. This fun color palette will tell you exactly how to get to Sesame Street!
We made character cutouts of Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch. Elmo and Abby Cadabby are the birthday girl Gia's favorite characters, so we placed a bit more of an emphasis on those furry friends. Wife of the Party and team arranged a kids’ table surrounded with comfy fuzzy stools to sit on. Sesame Street-themed goodies including juice boxes, coloring books, crayons, Play-Doh, and bubbles were arranged on the table for the kiddos to enjoy in between enjoying their food from Yakitana and slices of cake from Sweet Deetails.
An all-white jumper from Play Play Zone featuring a slide ballpit with custom pink balls was bedecked in punchy garlands of pink and red balloons, as well as a few character cutouts easily appealed to the children. An oversized arch made of small and large balloons in pink, orange, red, and white and crafted by our team was also on display and served as an ideal photo opportunity for families. The children were in awe when the live petting zoo by Farm Friendz was introduced.
In addition to impeccably crafted sweet treats, such as cupcakes with faces of Sesame Street characters baked by Belladonna Sweets and milkshakes from Crepes & Shakes, each child took home a live fish in a mini bowl as a nod to Dorothy, Elmo’s pet goldfish from “Elmo’s World.”
