MacDaddyy's 30th Birthday Do-Over

Famed professional makeup artist, Angel Merino, also known on social-media platforms as MacDaddyy was unable to celebrate his 30th birthday last year due to Covid restrictions. He had memorable plans in mind, so he decided to carry them out and host a big party this year – we’ll call it his “30th birthday do-over.”

Angel hoped to transform his cosmetic line warehouse in Burbank, California, into a Britney Spears-themed birthday event extravaganza. The main room was inspired by the song “I'm A Slave 4 U” and incorporated greenery and dark-green furniture provided by Create Event Design, a disco ball to add some extra pizazz to the lighting design, and a stage for MacDaddyy’s performance.

Large Britney Spears album covers were used for wall decorations, while 3D Sounds arranged for a large LED screen to play the pop singer’s music videos so that guests could dance or simply watch while sipping on a cocktail mixed by Crystal Bartenders. For a little bit of playfulness, we also hired LX Pix for photo booth take-home favors. Finally, friends and family enjoyed delicious cake slices from Holly Cake after singing “Happy ‘30th’ Birthday” to Angel. It was such a great birthday party, whether he was 30 or 31, we’d be happy to do-over again next year!
