Our Favorite Barbie Girl's 5th Birthday

We were excited to coordinate and design the 5th birthday party of the daughter of famed jeweler to the stars Ben Baller. Kaia’s Barbie-inspired birthday party was a darling mix of girly elements and plain-fun details. The monochromatic pink color palette was a must! Bunchy garlands of balloons in pink and white decorated the glimmering pink drapery surrounding the space. A long king’s table was arranged with pink charger plates, napkins, flatware, and a goodie Barbie favor bag atop. An oversized disco ball was suspended overhead, as was a grand sign that read “Kaia” in Barbie lettering. Ghost chairs surrounded the table. We selected these so they would blend well and not compete with the punchy pink hues.

The family home was transformed into a Barbie playhouse complete with a jumper from Lil Munchkins, swimming activities, and even a real-life Barbie character actress from Artists Creating Entertainment. Personalized “Kaia” throw pillows decorated the plush pink couches from Create Event Design that the adults lounged on and mingled while their minis played. White coffee tables atop bright-pink area rugs were adorned with short floral arrangements of roses ranging from light pink to deep fuchsia from Peony Secret.

Personalized Barbie cookies were crafted by Cookieteria, which gave the children a burst of energy, perfect timing for them to start making over Barbie. We arranged a vanity setup with large Barbie doll heads, similar to a mannequin training head provided in cosmetology school. Each station provided a brush and hair accessories so the child could braid and style Barbie’s hair to their liking. The kids loved it and spent a lot of time twisting, pinning, and spraying final looks for their doll heads! It was an amazing and memorable time for all! Happy birthday, Kaia!
