MAC Cosmetics names Saweetie Global Brand Ambassador

The Wife of the Party team was asked to plan an amazing celebration to announce rapper Saweetie as MAC Cosmetic’s new Global Brand Ambassador! The Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel in New York City is known for its glam vibe, including upscale small plates and cocktails.

Since we would be traveling by plane, it required that we do most of the planning from Los Angeles. We also had to determine lighting design and produce fabrication before we took off to “The Big Apple.” This event required plenty of forethought and carefully planned out details (which I love!), as we sent all the décor and fabrication pieces via freight truck. I love something a little different and this was just that! We waved bye to our loaded truck and prepped ourselves to head to the airport with any other important items we needed for the day of.

The space itself has a sultry vibe and the oversized sparkling MAC x Saweetie sign suspended overhead was literally perfect for the concept. Surrounded by in-house ceiling lighting, the sign dazzled and was definitely a showstopper as guests made their way into the party. Dj Milan played everyone’s favorites, while they mingled and milled about trying on the new products and were encouraged to take home more to try.

Collections of deep-red roses from Plantshed adorned tables and the refreshment bar. Even the back of the bar and select walls had a garnet floral design – it really turned out to be the prettiest theme. Huge paper roses also decorated the step-and-repeat, as well as other appropriate places inside the venue. They were a fun pop that added a bit of whimsy!
