Oscar De La Hoya & Golden Boy's 2021 Holiday Party

When it came time to design and plan Oscar De La Hoya’s “Golden Boy” annual holiday party in Downtown Los Angeles, we opted for the historical La Casita space at the Hotel Figueroa. The Spanish Colonial architecture of the property is beautiful all on its own, so it was the perfect backdrop for festivities. A color palette of gold – of course – along with touches of white and red included an array of holiday-time décor, including florals from Peony Secret which showcased winter-white blooms complemented with bullion-sprayed hypericum berries, dozens of gilt ornaments affixed to the wooden beams of the bar dangling overhead, in addition to a large white polar bear surrounded by snowy Christmas trees in the pool area.

As guests enjoyed the merriment of the evening, they were also delighted to see “snow” falling about them while mingling fireside. Stockings were strung with gold garlands above the fireplace and additional arrangements of vanilla-hued florals intermingled with gilt pinecones decorated tables, mantles, and the bar. Toy soldiers stood tall, as did the gorgeous scantily clad models working as Santa’s elves. Guests took the opportunity to pose with the models, as well as Santa resulting in many fun, animated photographs taken by professional photographer Edward De La Torre of EDLT Photo. A photo booth by LX Pix was also on hand to provide an instant guest favor for family and friends to take home to remember the festive evening.

Create Event Design supplied additional plush seating and carpeting, so that partygoers could comfortably sit alfresco and enjoy the skyline of the city. Burger sliders, shrimp skewers, and so many other delectable types of fare were offered to satiate appetites of loved ones throughout the night. Yummy holiday-inspired cocktails were also readily available.

Oversized ornaments and Christmas trees nestled in corners of the room, completed the warm, inviting feeling of the party. At a time when things are uncertain in the world, it was such a beautiful event that helped revelers get into the Christmas spirit. Special thank you to Oscar, Marylyn, and Holly for this amazing opportunity. We are so grateful for this wonderful partnership!
