Frankenlucca Turns Three!

At the Victorian-style home of my brother-in-law, we created our very favorite drive-by party to date – for our very own baby girl Lucca! As she approached her 3rd birthday, I realized how much Lucca had come into her own: she has a spunky personality, is strong-willed, and is very loving. She’s been such a joy in all of our lives and since we are all so wildly busy much of the time, we really wanted to focus on hosting something uniquely special for her during quarantine. When she was asked what theme she wanted she decided and we agreed that a Frankenstein theme during summer would be fun, so off we went brainstorming creative ideas! Frankenlucca started to really come alive.

I settled on a fruity color palette of lemon and lime and began working on invitations, laser-cut lettering for the front yard, and loading up on balloons to decorate the white-picket fence and to frame the backdrop. I wanted to wow people as they drove past, so it needed to be abundant and vibrant. EDLT visited our home for a pre-party photo shoot where Lucca had the opportunity to dress up and pose as her favorite monster. The portraits came out great, so I used them on a LED screen to hang over the porch area facing the street. Thank you 3D Sounds! My husband, Herick, DJ’d down below.

For guest favors, a balloon artist crafted adorable Lucca and Frankenstein-inspired balloons and Twisted for Sugar provided Frankenstein cotton candy. Belladonna Sweets gifted guests themed donuts including the face of The Bride Of Frankenstein and Assorted Boards came by to gift her the most spooktacular candy board we’ve ever seen. We also gifted passersby with green gift bags filled with goodies to take home and enjoy. The merriment continued for a few hours, as the music played, close family members dressed up in theme and danced around the grassy area with the birthday girl. As the sun started to set, the spider-web lighting illuminated the lawn and the lime-colored balloons appeared to glow from the LED screen lighting. Fog machines and bubbles made their appearances throughout the evening.

Our friends made it wonderfully memorable for our little monster and handed her gifts, cards, handcrafted signs and banners, and blew bubbles her way. Lucca was truly thrilled the entire time – she was overwhelmed with happiness and so were we! The night ended as Frankenstein himself sang happy birthday and brought out a delightful and spooky confection from Sweet Deetails. Family was able to choose from edible cookies of Frankenlucca, birthday cake or fresh fruit gifted with the artwork from her invitations from our friends Claudia and Tony and Edible 360.

Tiffany Kyees, THANK YOU for gifting us with so many beautiful photos! And to her nina Joanne, WE LOVE YOU. Thank you for everything you did for us to make this happen!
