The Sunset Room Hollywood served as the venue for the first-ever Hollywood Unlocked Social Impact Brunch, created by Jason Lee of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. He shared with the media that it was an incredible dream of his to create a platform such as this. “I really wanted to honor badasses who are making a difference in the world of black entertainment. These are people who are important to our culture and help move the needle on issues that are vital in our community.” The event took place the weekend of the BET Experience, and honored rapper Cardi B, comedienne Tiffany Haddish, singer Teyana Taylor, and the late Nipsey Hussle.

The title sponsor was our treasured client PrettyLittleThing. Our entire production team worked really hard alongside the clothing brand to help bring this meaningful event to life. Beyond the awards, the event also wanted to recognize and celebrate social-media influencers who help to support the music and entertainment industries.

Something special about the Sunset Room Hollywood is that it provides modern elements and a very clean, understated design. It’s easy to move around their in-house furniture and allows us to really create our own aesthetic. Sites like this one are terrific for event planners because it provides a blank-like slate to work with and helps us to hone in on your vision.

Pink-colored carpeting and a single lush row of flowers were installed in the entryway to provide an impactful impression as guests entered and posed at the step-and-repeat. Inside, we transformed the room using reams of sheer-fabric draping in tones of pink and white. We crafted lighting-design elements, which would reflect off the chandeliers suspended overhead, creating a dreamy warm ambience. Large floral arrangements of white blooms and fresh verdure were placed into urns with pedestals, and were sprinkled around tables covered with sleek black linens.
