Father's Day Cupcakes with The WOTP and Evite

Three days into June, already? Our weekends are completely booked around here and the one Sunday we left open is June 21st to celebrate the best dad in the universe! I always try the DIY route whenever possible and a couple years ago DIY for me meant baking daily. We once owned a bakery called Ah, How Sweet! and you may have seen us as a husband/wife team on Cupcake Wars or Rachael Ray. I've shared tons of tips, tricks and recipes and today I'm reposting one of my favorites I did for Evite with five easy-to-do themes for the man in your life. Read the entire post that covers all the dads, grandpas and uncles out there including the office guy, the "heart"y kinda guy and the sports enthusiast here:

What you'll need:

  1. Fondant (with a half off coupon you get the Wilton brand inexpensively at Michael's)
  2. A sharp knife or fondant tools, if you have them.
  3. Fondant coloring, also available at Michael's or your local baking store. One of my favorites is Jane's Cakes in La Canada! Another great selection is at Party City, boxes included.
  4. Cupcake papers
  5. Your favorite cupcake recipe or hey, a boxed mix works just as well and for under $3! If you do go the boxed mix route, Duncan Hines works the best and you can find coupons on their site!

Happy baking!
