John Legend & Chrissy Teigen's Tchotchke Christmas Party
We always have a blast with Chrissy Teigen and John Legend! We were super excited when they asked us to help plan and coordinate a Christmas party at a private residence. We packed our trucks full with decorations, lighting, props, and even snow and headed over to the home to make some magic. The “Grandma’s House-themed” holiday party included a tight guest list of only friends and family. Their vision was a jolly one filled with vintage décor and an “old lady” aesthetic.
Guests walked through a winter wonderland as they followed the walkway to the home. There was even real snow! A polar bear, collections of noble firs and Douglass firs, a duo of snowmen, and additional festive décor adorned the area to provide a warm welcome. Live Christmas carolers performed as well, which was the perfect touch to evoke wonderful memories for all.
Once attendees entered, they were wowed by an impressive display of grandmotherly like décor complete with decorated Christmas trees, garlands lining staircases, rows of bright-red poinsettias, and so much more! It was a fantasy of nostalgia! One of my favorite details were the candy dishes of mints, chocolates, and caramels, as well as nuts placed in cheery jars. Shortbread cookies, fruit cakes, ginger bread houses were displayed on a table, along with charcuterie choices and a baked ham with pineapple slices affixed.
The house furnishings were perfectly set up as well. Vintage furniture, including couches and throw pillows, televisions, telephones, lamps, and radios really helped to round out the theme and loved ones couldn’t get enough of all the details. We were sure to incorporate layers of décor, so it was interesting from all angles.
Guests took pictures in a photo booth, as well as with Santa in his workshop filled with toys and even more wondrous Christmas trees. Outside, guests were enjoying the beautiful hot cocoa bar offerings with toppings galore and skating along in the toy-soldier enveloped custom ice rink built in the backyard. It was a sight to see all around!
