Chelsie Hill & Jay Bloomfield's Gender Reveal

Today is officially the day Chelsie and Jay will welcome their sweet baby girl into the world. Chelsie Hill, dancer, influencer, amazing human being, and founder of the wheelchair dance team The Rollettes, wed her beloved Jay Bloomfield in a romantic celebration last year. We loved planning every minute of their big day and were thrilled to hear they were expecting their first child. We were honored when the couple asked us to help plan their baby shower + gender reveal this past fall at Hotel Maya in Long Beach, California.

With only 60 loved ones in attendance, it was important to the couple to maintain a sense of warmth in the space for the intimate event. The theme was teddy bears, and the color palette was a beautiful array of neutral shades. Large marquee letters spelled out OH BABY, surrounded by clouds of balloons in vanilla, beige, sienna, and brown, in addition to a delightful tall backdrop erected for photo moments with family made complete with voluminous balloon arches, brilliant cold sparks, and so much more were arranged to celebrate the sweet little one. Tables were adorned with small balloon centerpieces held up with plush teddy bears in light brown and reddish-brown tones for a lovely contrast to the white linens.

Guests were offered a yummy meal, followed by a variety of sweet treats ranging from sugar cookies artfully iced in theme, adorable teddy cake pops, and a delicious two-tier chocolate cake bedecked with edible miniature teddy bears and balloons. It was the cutest cake! Attendees also enjoyed playing fun baby-shower games, such as a baby-bottle guzzling race that was pretty exciting to watch and garnered a ton of laughs from onlookers.

Finally, the moment all had been waiting for – it was time to look up in the sky for the “stork!” Everyone had made their baby-gender guesses and it was time to finally learn if Chelsie and Jay would be having a boy or a girl. A helicopter dropped the baby’s gender by color to make the announcement! Partygoers cheered, screamed in giddiness, and hugged in complete happiness, so excited to find out the news.
