Cardi B's Passa Passa Birthday Party

For Cardi's birthday, the superstar wanted to celebrate with an elaborate Passa Passa-themed party complete with Jamaican dancehall vibes. If you’re unfamiliar, Passa Passa is a streetparty that originated in Kingston, Jamaica, but has spread throughout the Caribbean. Passa Passa typically starts after midnight and can continue well through 7AM. 

Our team was ready to help all in attendance for a grand night of fun that would likely last until the wee hours of the morning! We had not only coordinated the event, but also crafted décor schemes, fabrication, as well as lighting and sound design. EDLT Photo arrived early to capture all the details prior to guests’ arrival. 

LA River Studios is nice because it is a clean design, and the bare space allows us a lot of room to get creative. We wanted a sensational lighting design to go along with the energy of the fast beats of the music. Additionally, the DJ area was well lit and adorned with a custom neon lighted sign from Quality Neon Signs that read: Cardi’s Passa Passa Party.

A variety of performers entertained guests, including Desmond Bedlow, a talented steel drummer, and the main performer was Cardi's favorite Jamaican singer: Spice. Partygoers enjoyed cannabis from Ball Family Farms who had packaged it in artistic containers that matched the theme.

LX Pix brought in an interactive photo booth, while 3D Sounds provided the LED screens, which showcased a variety of sexy videos throughout the evening. Crystal Bartenders offered up the best tropical cocktails and Wi Jammin’ catered an amazing meal. When loved ones wanted to take a break from ala the action, they were kept comfortable on furniture arranged by Create Event Design. 

To provide added energy to the crowd, we presented a sweet treat – a birthday cake by Belladonna Sweets. Each layer of the large cake matched the Passa Passa concept and was covered in various Caribbean island flags. The birthday girl enjoyed her moment as everyone sang her “Happy Birthday!”
