Lincoln's Park - A Rawring First Birthday

After having the honor of planning the beautiful nuptials of Alexis and Justin, we were flattered to later be asked to plan the 1st birthday party of their son, Lincoln. With a fun theme in mind – Lincoln’s Park – as a nod to the Jurassic Park movies and the birthday boy’s love of dinosaurs, we began crafting the ultimate dino playground at the residence of a family friend. It was a perfectly manicured landscape, ideal for our park vision.

We started off simple where guests entered: white balloon garlands complemented with greenery to decorate the lounge area near the garage. Additional sofas and chairs in white leather were arranged with brightly colored throw pillows in the theme’s signature colors of tangerine and lime. Wooden boards bedecked with greenery and miniature dinos showcased photos of Lincoln from each month of his life.

As family and friends filed further into the area, they discovered a collection of cocktail tables covered in brightly hued orange fabrics dotted about the lawn. Short centerpieces comprised of moss and ferns decorated each table. Cocktail tables are fun to work with because they just need a little bit of flair and you can easily tailor to fit in within any concept. The bar area was open to guests of all ages; the professionals from Crystal Bartenders even placing straws in the juice boxes of their tiny patrons. Individual stone-oven pizzas from Provami’s Pizza were freshly cooked on-site for revelers to enjoy.

A ball pit emblazoned with Lincoln’s name was as visually striking as it was fun for the children. The jaw-dropping backdrop was truly the pièce de résistance: a hand-painted dinosaur fossil silhouette made of carved wood surrounded by towering brachiosaurus, T-Rex and other artfully arranged dinosaurs created by The Ballusionist using hundreds of balloons. We also had fog machines in this area, to create a foggy Jurrasic Park feel.

To end the day, loved ones enjoyed slices of the green dinosaur birthday cake by Merengue Bakery. Though no one enjoyed the confections quite as much as the birthday boy himself. Take a look at that sweet face!
