Teyana Taylor's The Album Release Party

Sure, COVID-19 definitely had us doing things differently, but this listening party – sponsored by clothiers PrettyLittleThing – for Teyana Taylor’s new album, titled The Album was a beautifully unique one. And when I say that, it wasn’t just because everyone wore face masks or we had to limit the number of people in attendance; it was because the vast Beverly Hills estate was large enough to accommodate social distancing while also providing room to construct incredibly beautiful styling in each room of the property. The setup encouraged guests to take their time, enjoying each of the five “studios” and the respective tunes that matched that particular theme – similar to how one would make their way through a fine art museum, moving slowly and processing all the details.

This project was truly a labor of love. I think you’ll see that in the vivid images – they are powerful. Attendees were really moved by what they saw and how it connected with what they were hearing. Each room’s concept was thoughtfully planned around Teyana’s songs. Some of my favorite décor details were: a custom wall built for the alfresco setting in back boasting black-and-white photos for the BLM movement, gorgeous towering portraits from the album shoot were displayed inside the home, as well as floating atop the water in the swimming pool. In the room centered around love, the airy elements in soft pink and faux butterflies was romantic, another room – a sexy red space draped in plush velvet drapery was amazing, in addition to décor pieces such as the crazy-cool Lucite piano, the fragrant florals tucked into every corner of every room, and so much more.
