Green Dot's Festive Monochromatic Holiday Party
Green Dot Bank hosted their annual holiday party for their employees at a magnificent private residence. It was our third year planning something special for the corporation and we were excited to create a fun experience with plenty of festive details. This year, we decided to go with an all-red décor concept that incorporated hints of vintage holiday aspects.
The entrance was made beautiful with a custom “snowfall” lighting design, using red lighting to illuminate the entire estate then adding sprinkles of “snowflake” patterns as an overlay. Having an impressive entryway is an excellent way to wow revelers for multiple reasons: make guests feel welcomed, tease what’s to come, or reinforce/maintain a set theme.
The scarlet tone continued throughout the property with deep-red draping and carpet. Small sets were created in areas to serve as both amazing decoration and a place for photo opportunities. One of my favorites is the “Christmas tree lot” with a vintage truck hauling a couple of trees in the bed of the vehicle. Additional trees were installed around the property to tie in the holiday look and feel.
Velvet couches and modern high tables and chairs were arranged to encourage lounging, whilst a massive LED screen played vintage holiday movies and classic images as guests mingled and enjoyed festive libations. A tall, tinsel-decorated Christmas tree was the pièce de résistance. It was inspired by the late American photographer Slim Aarons, and installed in the center of the fountain of the alfresco space.
We used some of our favorite vendors to help make the experience of attendees memorable and delightful throughout the evening. A talented DJ or entertainment group is always a necessity! DJ Von Kiss played behind a one-of-a-kind red tufted DJ booth, alongside drummer Denise Zavala. The energy of a DJ playing songs that are in beat with a live performer is incredible.
For food, we opted for freshly made pizza and salad prepared onsite by Prova Pizzeria, scrumptious chicken and waffles by Wings N’ Waffles, and yummy beignets and coffee from Christina Milian’s Beignet Box.
