Pronunciation is QUAY (key) x Chrissy Teigen
This event was one that I had been looking forward to for some time. Quay was a new client for Wife of the Party and I immediately fell in love with their team, their energy, and the brand overall. I think they have great ideas, and they were very clear in communicating their vision for the evening, which is extremely helpful when planning a marketing event.
We crafted a tropical, vibrant décor scheme that involved lush greenery and florals in peach, pink, and ivory. The event took over the entire penthouse and rooftop of the London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills. The guest list was packed with fashion journalists, influencers, style bloggers, and popular reality television stars. After attendees walked in, they came upon a lovely floral-embellished wall in lieu of the typical step-and-repeat where photographers snapped photos of VIPS, including Vanderpump Rules cast members: Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, Scheana Shay, and James Kennedy.
The new line of sunglasses and glasses were presented on all-white tables, bedecked with understated groupings of flowers and verdure. The patio area encouraged everyone to “Practice Safe Specs” and served as a station for attendees to select their favorite pair of blue-light blocking glasses. A DJ played nearby and cocktails were offered at a sleek white bar decorated with fresh blossoms.
Upstairs, an oversized garland of white and gold balloons ran across the length of the rooftop where large standalone cutouts spelled out Quay x Chrissy. Food stations and another bar highlighted additional custom cutouts and neon lighting featuring Quay x Chrissy marketing. Posters of Chrissy wearing a variety of specs from the line were arranged throughout the site. Another crook of the space – “Find Your Quays” (pronounced like “keys”) – offered complimentary sunglasses to revelers as well.
The woman of honor – wearing a bright green shorts jumpsuit – took the microphone to thank Quay, and to speak a little bit about the line and how much she enjoyed working with the popular brand. Her family – including husband John legend, daughter Luna, son Miles, and mother Pepper – happily looked on as she spoke. Chrissy joked a bit about how even she used to mispronounce the sunglass line as “kway” and reminds herself by reciting the company’s slogan “Education is Quay” in regard to their brand-new scholarship program. The powerful scholarship is meant to help fund one lucky person’s dreams and will be evaluated by: use of funds, writing ability, creativity, originality, and overall excellence. We wish Quay Australia and the winner much success, and look forward to the next “Quay-ute” event!
