Pretty Little Thing x Karl Kani featuring Teyana Taylor

To celebrate the exclusive new collection of PrettyLittleThing x Karl Kani featuring Teyana Taylor, we knew we had to plan an event unlike any we had ever created. The Karl Kani streetwear brand is legendary and as a nod to its heritage, we opted for a ’90s-themed celebration. Our team worked hard – and very quickly – in order to make our wild ideas come to fruition. In only 5 days we crafted an unbelievable décor display that left Karl Kani and Teyana Taylor themselves openly impressed and in awe of the details.

The outdoor space of Nightingale Plaza was set up with colorful vivid details. A set of bicycles spray painted in lively shades were affixed to chain-link fences beside a vibrant step and repeat, and various sized consoled televisions made for great backdrops as well as classic Chevy Impalas. Our talented graffiti artist Nerv even hand painted large throw pillows, metal trashcans, and worked throughout the night to paint on street-like walls and murals within the area. What was great about all of these props is that we scoured local thrift shops for the items, so the purchases we made resulted into profit for local charities.

MC Casanova was on the mic, creating a terrific energy for partygoers who also enjoyed watching break dancers perform and a beat boxer’s live sets. A favorite moment of the night was when Teyana Taylor made us all refresh our memories to who the real dance queen is; her commanding movements reminded us all that she once choreographed for Beyonce.

The crowd went wild when Snoop Dogg took the stage and later Mace, both performing custom sets to celebrate the night, which also fell on Karl Kani’s birthday. We made sure to have a personalized confection prepared compliments of Umar Kamani and we sang “Happy Birthday” to Kani at midnight. Catch the video below to relive it with us:

Outside, guests could enjoy freshly made hot dogs or tacos and play a pickup game of basketball at the Pretty Little Thing court. We noticed that everyone loved the décor for photos, too. It was awesome to see people really taking in all of the details we had put so much work into.

As the night went on, even more celebrities joined the festivities: Chris Brown, Migos, Lil Twist, O.T. Genasis, Abigail Ratchford, Christina Milian, XX, and so many more. Guests sang and danced to their favorite 1990s songs well into 2AM. The night was exactly what we had hoped for and we’re so excited to plan upcoming events for one of our favorite clients, Umar Kamani and the rest of the Pretty Little Thing family.
