Natalia's Blushing Birthday - A Floral Sunday Brunch

My baby girl turned 18. Trough my tears of sadness (of the years passing too quickly) and my big grin (happy to have been blessed with witnessing her grow through those years), I planned. I wanted her party to be filled with pretty things, yes, but I also wanted the ambience to feel joyful. I wanted each detail to represent Natalia: her younger self, present day, and the woman she will become. And, I wanted to make memories in our new home.

Since personal and familial touches are some of my most favorite elements of any celebration, we tailored a day that included personal details throughout with the help of Shawna Yamamoto, Edge Design & Decor and Luna Party Rentals. Natalia is a strong young woman, talented, smart, and beautiful. To help illustrate the many sides of her personality, I asked Shawna to create collections of florals in multiple varieties. Lounge areas were arranged on a grassy area, so Natalia and her friends could hang out before and after their meals. When it was time to be seated for brunch, guests entered a large structure draped in blush pink fabric and filled with florals and crystals suspended overhead. Long mirrored-top tables – surrounded by gold chairs – were decorated with candlelight and blooms down the length of the table. They were so pretty, almost like an extra-long “runner!” Crystal-rimmed charger plates were topped with ivory plates and raspberry linen napkins.

Once loved ones were done with their scrumptious meals, they were able to roam the space. There was a towering pink wall with “Lala” (her nickname) displayed – it was perfect for photos. There was also a station where guests could create their own flower bouquet. It was like a beautiful Farmers Market – charming, quaint, inviting! Herick played music throughout the day, and everyone danced and laughed until the sun was ready to set. A surprise gift from Ben Baller was an unexpected and shiny surprise. It was THE PERFECT way to celebrate Natalia.
