A Beachside Tropical Baby Shower Brunch
We celebrate people. Naturally some of our favorite people to celebrate are those nearest and dearest to us and when they have a baby on board it's something extraordinary. Crystal and Danny were about to welcome Baby Olivares and experience parenthood for the very first time. At the time of their shower they decided not to find out the sex beforehand and there's a beautiful backstory as to why. Her mother, Christina, once had a conversation with Crystal about how waiting until her baby was born to find out the sex would be the biggest surprise of her life. They honored her by doing just that, and wanted to celebrate their shower honoring her by incorporating her presence with palm trees as they welcomed friends and family to celebrate this little miracle.
We've all seen gender neutral showers done with toned down colors and minimal prints but the mommy-to-be wanted to go bold and vibrant with patterns, textures and a whole lot of sunshine! With the help of Holly at La Tavola and Ann at White Sakuras it was a match made in heaven. We installed overhead lanterns in a variety of vibrant shades of green to bring in cheer and tie it altogether:
More florals that incorporated a tropical feel with pops of color were captured perfectly by Edward of EDLT Photo:
Crystal is one of the most loved people I know. Her family came together from near and far...
...and her sisters Stacy and Eva created some fabulous activity stations like DIY onesie decorating and incorporated all her favorite things (being Irish, the Dallas Cowboys and her handsome husband):
Cold beer and tasty cocktails were served up in a customized tropical hut, beachside:
Sunday funday is never complete without good music - thank you DJ Herick!
There always needs to be friendly competition for the good baby shower prizes...(thanks Stephanie)
Cravings must be satisfied for the mama-to-be and Merengue Bakery always delivers...
Crystal figured she'd better share her sweets so a call to the Frost Bite truck was on her list of must haves. On the menu? Ice cream sundaes, iced coffee slushies, shakes and more!
For keepsakes everyone snapped their way through The Happen Booth on the way out but not before lots of hugs, well wishes and gifts galore for Baby O:
And finally, to catch this post up - I am posting a photo of the beautiful Danilynn. She's here, she's healthy and mommy is recovering beautifully. I love you Crystal - you did it!
Special thanks:
