Pretty in Pink Vintage Hollywood Fiesta Wedding
Stepping into the Palm Court at the Alexandria Ballroom you feel instantly transported to another time and place. Immersed in Hollywood history and celebrity romance, the Alexandria Ballroom was the idyllic location for this Pretty in Pink Vintage Hollywood Fiesta.
Before I show you this stunning reception, I must show you some beautiful photos of Jessica, Joel, and their bridal party before they officially became #themascorros...
This dress was perfect for my bride, Jessica...soft, delicate, lacey, and pearl encrusted.
Summer bridal heels with a little something blue...
Jessica gifted each of the bridesmaids with lovely matching earrings.
My happy bride is ready to walk down the aisle!
Doesn't this just scream June Bride? Soft pinks, eucalyptus, white roses...stunning bouquet by White Sakuras.
The groom gave each of his groomsmen Dia de los Muertos inspired cufflinks.
This looks like a man ready to get married!
Constructed in 1906, the Alexandria hosted some of Hollywoodβs elite including Jack Dempsey, Mary Miles Minter, Rudolph Valentino, & Charlie Chaplin as well as notable, now historic, figures such as Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill, King Edward VIII, Woodrow Wilson, & Theodore Roosevelt. Since the grand renovation stars like Natalie Portman, Pharrell & Beyonce have hosted events here as well.
The Palm Court Ballroom, where Jessica & Joel chose to host their wedding reception is designated as an historical-cultural monument. Many of the original details are still intact and are absolutely exquisite. Upon entering the room guests cannot help but look upward at the gorgeous and grand stained-glass Tiffany skylights. In October 1911, the Los Angeles Times reported about the ballroomβs grand opening,
βThe great room, over one hundred feet in length and seventy-five feet in width, was a sunburst of light. Great crystal chandeliers blazed from a dozen vantage points, while softer and smaller lights were placed along the four sides of the room. ... The perfection and symphony of the great room held the guests spellbound upon their arrival. As the stately ladies and gentlemen entered the salon the pause each made at the threshold as with intense interest they swept the salon with their gaze was noticeable.β
This is an impressive and gorgeous room!
Guests were treated to some fantastic traditional Mexican food.
The built-in bar in the Palm Court Ballroom is very well known and quite an attraction. Jessica & Joel wanted to highlight this unique area with custom cocktails and tequila shooters created for the occasion. Guests were able to take home the shot glasses to remember the evening.
The Money Dance is a tradition in some Latin cultures and one of the things Jessica & Joel had a lot of fun with. Guests "pay" for a dance by pinning a bill on the bride or groom. It looks like this guest might be paying to cut in!
Congratulations to the new #themascorros! You look gorgeous under the twinkling lights of downtown Los Angeles! It was an honor to help coordinate your day at the Alexandria Ballroom.
