Christina's Moroccan-inspired baby shower
This mommy-to-be has traveled the world and designated Morocco the place her heart resides. That has since changed since Scarlett was born but this was her last chance to relive it before baby was born.
I hosted this party in my backyard with the help of a few of my friends. The goal was to be as authentic but light hearted so I grabbed some elements that made this shower a happy, delicious place. First and foremost was the hearty menu from my pal Nicole. Assorted fresh salads with local farmer's market ingredients such as couscous and vegetables. A variety of hummus trios and bread baskets. Mixed olives and preserved lemons. Let's not forget the homemade cakes and cookies and fresh fruit kabobs. Guests dined on family style tables under draped multicolored fabrics.
Flower arrangements included tangerines and florals atop golden candelabras. Assorted cages and fixtures served as vessels throughout. Look closely at the small details such as elephants, gold coins, vibrant colors and traditional patterns.
Gifts were placed in an antique armoire in the ivy and guests sipped on Sofia champagne as Christina opened them one by one.
Extras:
- beautiful edible henna detail on royal icing cookies
- guests signed in on a storybook for baby's nursery as a keepsake
- the mommy-to-be wore a lovely handmade head crown from An Old Soul Jewelry
